Friends, food, and fellowship. That is what home feels like. And the kitchen is the heart of the home. This sense of warmth and companionship is what The Cozy Chicks try to invoke in our novels. And now, our cookbook will invite you to enter the heart of our cozy mystery worlds—the stories of our characters and of their authors, told through food.
THE AUTHORS
Ellery Adams grew up on a beach near the Long Island Sound. Having spent her adult life in a series of landlocked towns, she cherishes her memories of open water, violent storms, and the smell of the sea. Ms. Adams has held many jobs including caterer, retail clerk, car salesperson, teacher, tutor, and tech writer, all the while penning poems, children’s books, and novels. She now writes full-time from her home in Virginia.
Lorraine Bartlett must be absolutely crazy. Why else would she write three different mystery series? She writes the New York Times bestselling Victoria Square Mysteries; the Jeff Resnick Mysteries as L.L. Bartlett; and the New York Times bestselling, Agatha-nominated Booktown Mysteries under the name Lorna Barrett. She lives in Rochester NY with her husband and three felines, writing the days away.
NY Times bestselling mystery writer Leann Sweeney, originally from western New York, has called Texas home for many years. She writes two series, the Yellow Rose Mysteries set in and around Houston, and the Cats in Trouble Mysteries set in fictional Mercy, South Carolina. Leann lives with her husband, two cats (Agatha Christie and Wexford) and Rosie, the labradoodle. Some of her recipes come from her grandfather, a chef.
Kate Collins is the author of the national best-selling Flower Shop Mystery series. Her books have made the New York Times Extended Bestseller List, Barnes Noble best-seller lists, the Independent Booksellers best-sellers lists, as well as lists in Australia and England. Kate’s latest mystery, NIGHTSHADE ON ELM STREET, #13 in the Flower Shop Mystery series, will be released November, 2012. All of Kate’s mysteries are available in print, digital, and large-print editions. Kate’s historical romances are also available in digital format at Amazon, BN, and other e-book sellers.
Maggie Sefton is the New York Times Bestselling author of the Berkley Prime Crime Knitting Mysteries. UNRAVELED, 9th in the series, made the New York Times Bestselling Hardcover Fiction List after its June 2011 release. Maggie’s earlier published mystery, DYING TO SELL, is now available in e-books. Maggie grew up in Northern Virginia and has been a CPA and a real estate agent in the Rocky Mountain West, but finds nothing can match creating worlds on paper. She lives in Colorado.
Heather Webber, aka Heather Blake, is the author of over a dozen novels, including the best-selling Darcy Merriweather Wishcraft mysteries, the humorous Nina Quinn landscaping mysteries, and the popular best-selling romantic mystery series featuring Lucy Valentine. Heather is a Dr Pepper enthusiast and a total homebody who loves to be close to her family, read, watch Reality TV, crochet, hike the beautiful mountains in the northeast, bake, and dreams of owning a house at the base of Mt. Mansfield in Stowe, VT. Originally from the Boston area, she currently lives in SW Ohio with her family and is hard at work writing her next book.
Deb Baker writes the humorous award-winning Gertie Johnson mystery series set in the Michigan Upper Peninsula. She has also penned a doll collecting mystery series. As Hannah Reed, she writes about a Wisconsin beekeeper, who gets herself into some pretty sticky situations. When not struggling with her split personality, Deb gardens, cooks, reads, and kills people in her stories.
