The complete collection of The Monster Slayer: Series Two.
The Slayer and the Dragon:
Kate and Calder are on their way to their home town of Harkam’s Bridge after defeating a necromancer in the ruins of Newmark. They witness the horrific attack of a dragon and the destruction of yet another village in the country of Huron. Unable to ignore the threat of the dragon any longer, Kate throws herself into tracking the monster to put it down for good.
The Ogre and the Bridge:
Summer is coming to an end and a merchant is making his last stops before returning home for the winter. Kate finds herself caught between the town and an ogre with whom her prior incarnation waged a bitter feud. Not all is at it seems, however, and the ogre may not be the worst of Kate’s problems.
The Beast of Charn:
Winter is coming and the threat of vampires in the darker months increases. Kate chooses to leave her home of Harkam’s Bridge to help another town to the west on the shore of Great Lake Salim. Charn, a place that Kathleen visited years earlier, has been known to be harassed by undead; however, it is a new monster that plagues the town, and may be one that Kate has never encountered before.
A Murder of Vampires:
Winter in Huron means increased activity from vampires that hide among humans. In cities, however, the monsters are a constant threat. In the capital of Huron, Bancroft’s Dam, one group has thrived where others have failed.
Kate finds herself alone and abandoned in the city, caught between the refugees clinging to the outer walls and the nobility near the city’s castle. There’s talk of another slayer active in the city—one specializing in vampires. As monsters attack the city from within and without, Kate must deal with a murder of vampires out for her blood.
The Missing Bride:
Daisy, bride-to-be, spends her last night before her wedding as all others do in Porre: staying in her private room in the most extravagant manor house in the small village. With her room locked and the only way out guarded throughout the night, she finds herself unable to sleep as she plays out the day ahead of her in her mind. Then, hours before her wedding, the door is opened and Daisy is gone.
Night of the Necromancer:
Kate and Calder must face the same threat that defeated them two years earlier: Varis, a necromancer with more thralls in her undead army than ever before. With Harkam’s Bridge itself under attack, Kate must succeed where her prior incarnation failed.
The Monster Slayer stories are a series of novellas and novels centering around Kate and her partner Calder--based in the same fantasy world as The Wizard and the Dragon. The series is best read in order and, although it is possible to enjoy each story separately, it is recommended that you start with Series One before Series Two.
Be advised that the stories are also available in a complete collection in addition to separate books.
