AUTHOR’S NOTE
I have been asked repetitively whether or not I was going to include COVID-19 in the books. I know of some authors who have done so, and found myself seriously considering it. After all, it’s as real as you can get, and regardless what certain people are saying, it isn’t a hoax. It’s nasty business.
So, with that being said, I decided to include a few references. The scene with Zack and Jillian experiencing the woes of trying to do some normal grocery shopping, when there were those intent on hoarding every darn thing they could get their hands on, was based on real events. I wish I could say it wasn’t, but I wanted to vent my frustration about the way this particular pandemic has been handled. As I write this, the national election is one week away. I typically won’t indulge in politics, nor will I force my opinion and beliefs on others. However, if ever there was a time to make your voice heard, it’d be now, so I hope all you fellow Americans cast your ballot and voted.
For anyone familiar with the Jacobsen Observatory, I first want to say that, yes, I did take a few liberties with the telescope. There’s a 6” telescope on the premises, but figuring it was kinda small, I increased it to a 15”. If you’ve used the observatory, or have taken offense to that, sorry!
I’ve got the next three Corgi Case Files planned out. Well, planned out in my head, actually. The next will be written during the month of November, where I will, once again, participate in the NaNoWriMo challenge. What’s the title going to be called? Case of the Shady Shamrock (Corgi Case Files #12). I’m recommending to my publisher that it be released in February, so that they can market it for St. Patty’s Day. I’ve written a number of holiday-themed books now, so it’s nice to include a new holiday this time around. What’s the story about? Let’s just say a mysterious chest appears on Zack’s doorstep. Who sent it? What does it contain? And why are there people after it?
My lips are sealed.
One final note. I’d like to resume doing something that I started a while ago, and that’s to give a few recommendations. If you’ve finished this story, and are hungry for more, then I have a few choices for you. I heartily recommend you check out:
Connie Shelton’s Charlie Parker mystery series
CJ Love’s Shakespearean Murder Mysteries series
J.H. Sked’s Blue Moon Detectives series
