IoT devices should be registered with the cloud platform. Not every device should be allowed to connect to a cloud platform. The devices should be registered and be assigned an identity. A device should send its identity information when connecting to the cloud. If the device fails to send this identity information, the connectivity should fail. We will see later in this chapter how to generate an identity for a device using a simulated application.
