When Friends Get Together

––––––––

As the year went by and 2013 rolled in, Aleesha and Savage became smarter in all aspects of their businesses. They opened up two more dispensaries, Mary Jane Getaway in San Bernardino and Chief The Tree in Los Angeles, and they were getting ready to open High Roller’s in Oakland. They owned two properties, both small apartment complexes and invested in a barber shop. Since they couldn’t be everywhere at once, they let close friends and family members manage most of these businesses. Everything seemed to be going great as the new year took off.

Marcus had just been released from jail and had gone to stay with Aleesha and Savage. They gave him a job, and was in the process of helping him get his own place. They decided to give him a welcome home party a week after he was out and invited a few of their friends over.

Lala, Milasia, Trey, Mac, and Amina were all in attendance. The music was flowing smoothly, weed smoke filled the air, and laughs were heard coming from out the house. The men were in the backyard barbequing and playing dominos, while the women were in the kitchen drinking martinis. The side dishes had already been prepared, so the ladies had time to sit around and chit chat. They were all seated around the table, sipping their drinks while they had two blunts in rotation.

“Amina, I heard you fucked around with Roscoe?” Milasia asked, making the other ladies laugh.

“Bitch you got me fucked up. That’s yo hoe rat ass fuckin’ niggas from G3’s. I heard you let G Fly and T Money hit raw, had yo ass doin’ gymnastics on the dick,” Amina said as she passed a blunt to Aleesha. Amina was Asian and black, with honey blonde hair, slanted gray eyes, a round face, and tan skin. What she lacked in the breast department, she made up for with her broad hips and profuse thighs.

“I sure was. Had them niggas breakin’ they pockets before they left too,” Milasia openly stated.

“Uh un bitch that’s nasty,” Aleesha said cutting in, disgusted. “You fuck more niggas than the law allows.”

“I’m sorry miss ‘I only fucked with the same two niggas my whole life.’ It’s not my fault these niggas have dick to just pass around. You need to catch some before it goes to waste,” Milasia countered.

“No, you need to stop catching it before you fuck around and catch something you can’t get rid of,” Aleesha replied gravely.

“Well, I’ve been good this far. Besides, a bitch ain’t tied down to nobody. I say fuck these niggas just how they fuck these bitches. At least I’m not out here fuckin’ for free,” Milasia said with a neck roll.

“Bitch, that ain’t gon’ justify shit when you ain’t got no more walls,” Aleesha said as everyone at the table, besides Milasia, started busting up laughing.

They all got quiet as soon as Marcus came into the room. He grabbed a beer out the fridge, and turned around to see all the women staring at him.

“Damn, can a nigga get a drink?” he asked as he started walking out the kitchen. All the ladies burst into laughter, making him feel odd. “Y’all weird man,” he said walking out as the ladies kept laughing.

“Ay Aleesha, can I holla at you real quick?” Marcus asked Aleesha as he backtracked into the kitchen.

“Yeah hold on,” she said as she stood up from the chair. They walked into the hallway and toward the patio door. “Wassup?” she asked once she knew they were out of listening distance from the kitchen.

“What’s good with Lala?” he asked in a whisper as he huddled closer to her.

“Damn, you still on her?” Aleesha asked with a laugh.

“Hell yeah,” he said while laughing with her. “Man, Leelee, you know a nigga fresh out. I’m tryna get in somethin’. And she lookin’ hella right.”

“I feel you. Aight I got you bro, gimme five minutes,” she said turning around, walking back toward the kitchen.

Marcus was antsy. “Man, Aleesha, don’t play.”

“I got you,” she said walking away. Aleesha made her way back into the kitchen and sat at the table.

“What did he want?” Lala asked Aleesha as soon as she sat down.

“Bitch you know what he want, you,” Aleesha said with a wide grin. “Go talk to him.”

“No, I am not trying to fuck around with him.”

“You ain’t gotta fuck around with him, just fuck him. You know you want to, and he fresh out. Girl, he’ll tear yo shit up something vicious, have yo ass singing and climbing walls,” Aleesha said, fluttering her eyelashes.

“Bitch, you ain’t ever lied,” Milasia said, giving her a high five.

“Y’all some hoes,” Lala said with a laugh.

“Best friend it’s the truth,” Aleesha responded. “A man will give you the best dick of yo life if he just got out, or if he almost lost his life. I’m telling you, the night Savage was shot, he dicked me down something oh so right. Bitch I was stuck in bed for like two days.”

“And yo ass lied talkin’ ‘bout yo didn’t feel good,” Amina said with a laugh.

“I didn’t, my pussy was outta commission and my insides hurt like a mothafucka,” Aleesha answered candidly, making all her friends laugh.

“I don’t know, he’s cute and all, but I’m not really trying to deal with him like that,” Lala said as she lit another blunt.

“Ain’t nobody telling you to fall in love with the nigga. Please don’t fall in love with him,” Aleesha said as she gave Lala a stern stare. “But ain’t nothing wrong with gettin’ some dick here and there. Just go out there and talk to him. Yo ass been needing some anyway.”

“Fuck I know,” Lala said with a sigh, putting her head down. “Fine,” she said as she looked up at Aleesha. “Come with me.”

“Shit we might as well all go out there,” Aleesha said as she stood up. “C’mon y’all,” she told the women, grabbing her cup in the process of them walking out of the kitchen.

The ladies made their way outside to the backyard. The men had stopped their domino game, and Savage and Marcus were standing by the grill, while Mac and Trey were sitting on a bench, roasting each other. Aleesha and Lala made their way over to the grill, while Milasia and Amina joined the men on the benches.

“Hey beautiful,” Savage greeted Aleesha with a kiss on the check.

“Hey babe. What’s taking the food so long?” she asked, looking at the grill rack of half done ribs.

“Everything else is done. This nigga threw some extra shit on here earlier so I had to wait to make the ribs,” he said, nodding his head at Marcus.

“Ay, a nigga just got out. I’m tryna feast,” Marcus said, defending himself.

“You better be glad you got a good excuse,” she told Marcus. “I’m hungry,” she said to Savage as she smelled the aroma of the barbequed meat. “Anyways, Marcus this is Lala. Lala, Marcus,” she said as she introduced them to one another. “Now you two run along and play nice, or I’ma have to spank both of you,” she said with a laugh as she ushered them away.

“Oh bitch shut up,” Lala said, laughing.

She and Marcus walked to a nearby tree, and started conversing with each other. Ten minutes later, they snuck away to the bathroom. By the time they returned, the food was done and everyone was at the bench eating. They joined the table, both with big smiles covering their faces, and the whole table became quiet.

“Oooh y’all nasty,” Aleesha said as soon as they sat down, breaking the uncomfortable silence as everyone at the table started laughing.

“Shut up,” Lala said, embarrassed.

“It’s okay boo, we all grown,” Aleesha responded back, still giggling.

The friends continued to talk and joke around as they ate and enjoyed each other’s company.

After that day, Marcus and Lala began casually dating, which eventually turned into something more serious. After Lala and Aleesha both graduated from UCR with their bachelor’s degrees, Aleesha’s in accounting and Lala’s in culinary arts, Lala and Marcus moved into a house together in Fontana, and seemed to have fallen in love quite quickly.
