A few days had passed and Aleesha hadn’t talked to Savage. She didn’t know if he had flew back to New Orleans or not, or if he was even alright for that matter. Every time she tried to call him his phone would go to voicemail, and of course he didn’t answer any of her texts. She could only pray that he was alright and that he would forgive her.
Aleesha had also been contacted by Kiara about Sensi. She had pled not guilty on the charges she faced against Aleesha, claiming it was self-defense and that Aleesha initiated the fight between them. Aleesha had to appear in court and testify on her behalf. She wasn’t worried though, because she had some of the best legal defense in California.
On the day of the trial, Aleesha was a little nervous. She never thought she would have to testify in court and was thinking about not doing it, until she thought about CJ. He was still in the hospital fighting for his life and even though he had a great chance of living, the fact that she could have lost him gave her the extra courage to testify. Kiara came and picked Aleesha up and on the car ride there she shocked her with good but disturbing news.
“You know Izabella is also being charged with your friend Mila’s murder,” Kiara told her.
“What!” Aleesha exclaimed, shocked.
“Yes. When they examined the blade she used on you they found another person’s blood and after examining it they found out it was hers.”
“Oh my God,” Aleesha grumbled. “It was all my fault.”
“Don’t blame yourself, Aleesha. Izabella was just a crazy bitch,” Kiara reminded. “She’s getting what she deserves.”
Aleesha’s head was spinning by the time she arrived at the court house. She was anxious getting on the stand but she was happy after she did. After just a four-hour trial, the jury found Sensi guilty of every charge she faced. She was charged with two counts of aggravated battery and two counts of second-degree attempted murder against Aleesha, and one count of second-degree felony-murder for Milasia. She was given life in prison.
Lala had been watching the twins while Aleesha was in court, so Aleesha went straight to her house afterwards to pick them up and then she went home. She was surprised when she saw a Lincoln Navigator with Arizona plates, because she knew it was Savage. She got the twins out of their car seats and carried them into the house.
When Aleesha stepped inside she almost dropped the twins. There were boxes scattered throughout the house, some empty and some packed and taped up. Savage was in the living room packing up a box while talking on the phone. She put the twins down and they ran over to him.
Savage put his phone away. “Ay, come here my lil’ bad ass munchkins,” he playfully exclaimed as he scooped them into his arms and kissed them on their foreheads.
“Savage, what are you doing?” she curiously asked.
He set the twins down. “What does it look like I’m doin’? I’m packin’ my shit up.”
“This is OUR shit,” she clarified, “you’re not taking anything.”
“And whose finna stop me?” he arrogantly asked.
“Me,” she answered, walking up on him.
“Man,” he said, looking over her. “Get up out my face, Aleesha,” he warned.
“No,” she stubbornly challenged, looking up at him.
“Aleesha,” he said with venom in his voice and anger in his eyes as he stared down at her, “I’m tellin’ you, you better get up out my face. I’m not doin’ this shit with you and I’m tryin’ my hardest not to hurt you.”
“So you’re really just going to give up on me like that?” she asked, hurt. “On our family and everything we built together.”
“Man, you gave up on all that when you cheated.”
“No I didn’t,” she protested as she began shedding tears of remorse.
“Aleesha,” he said, letting out an annoyed sigh, “get out my face.”
“No. Savage you can’t just let all this go.”
“Watch me,” he coldly stated as he stared down at her with icy eyes.
“Please, you’re my husband,” she begged.
“Did you forget you just had a baby by another nigga!” he angrily yelled.
“I know, Savage! And I gotta live with that shit for the rest of my life. I made a mistake and I’m sorry. I really am. But you have to forgive me.”
“Man, I ain’t gotta do shit.”
“Yes, you do. Savage we can make this work. Please, forgive me,” she begged.
“MAN, LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE, ALEESHA!” he yelled at her while balling up his fist.
The two didn’t even notice that the twins had started crying until Aniya started screaming. She and Anthony were both staring up at Savage with fear in their eyes and had latched on to Aleesha’s legs.
“Oh my God,” Aleesha gasped as she picked them both up and sat on the couch. “Shhh, it’s okay babies. Mommy is so sorry,” she said, babying them as her crying stopped. She kissed them and rocked back and forth as she continued to try and calm them down.
Savage stood there in shock. He couldn’t believe he got that angry in front of his children and he never thought he would put that much fear in them. He started feeling guilty and knew he had to make things right for the sake of his family.
“You know what, you can leave Savage,” Aleesha calmly stated looking up at him. “I’m not going to keep begging you to stay with me anymore. I can’t even explain how sorry I am but if you want to go then that’s fine. You can take everything, but my kids aren’t going anywhere.”
“Man, I’m not leavin’ my kids,” he declared. “I’m not gon’ walk out on ‘em.”
“Nobody said you were. But they’re staying with me.”
“That shit ain’t gon’ work.”
“Savage, we already live apart now,” she sadly reminded. “We can switch off every once in a while like we’ve been doing.”
“Nah, man. That’s not what I want,” he said. “None of this shit is what I want.”
“Well what do you want, Savage?”
“Aleesha, I don’t want to leave you,” he confessed. “I fuckin’ love you.”
Aleesha’s heart fluttered. She thought that she and Savage’s marriage was over for sure, but now she knew that they were meant to be together. “I love you too.”
He sat down next to her. “I need you and my kids to be closer to me. I should have been more of a man and put my foot down and just made you move wit’ me,” he admitted.
“It wasn’t that, babe,” she said, looking him in the eyes. “I’m so sorry for making you even feel that way. You’re all the man I’ve ever wanted or needed. I just made a mistake because I wasn’t secure with myself and I’m so sorry.”
“You should have never even felt that way. My job as your husband is to make sure you’re secure with yourself. We gon’ work on it though. Fuck,” he sadly exclaimed. “I love you too much to ever let you go, Aleesha. You and my kids are my world. Including CJ. I wouldn’t be complete without y’all mommy.”
“We wouldn’t be complete without you either. We just need to learn to communicate better with each other. We should go get some counseling babe.”
“Man, we don’t need help from no one to work out our issues,” Savage protested.
“Please babe,” Aleesha begged. “I think it will be better for us, especially if we go up to the church for it.”
“Aight, that don’t sound half bad,” he agreed.
Aleesha and Savage got the kids dressed and they piled into Savage’s rental and went to church. They were able to talk to a pastor who helped them through a few things that day. The pastor recommended they come back for more sessions, which they happily obliged to.
Over the next few weeks, they attended marriage counseling sessions and soon everything seemed to be back to normal. Savage went and visited CJ for the first time, and even though he knew CJ wasn’t his son, Savage still felt a special bond with him. He was overjoyed knowing that CJ was experiencing a healthy recovery, and couldn’t wait for him to be able to come home. Once that happened, they could all move forward and really leave the past behind.
