Frankie Stein got an A on her scaritage report, Monster High got some voltageous new students, and Ghoulia got a brand-new laboratory. The very next day she moved her things into Hexiciah Steam’s old workshop.

She updated it with modern equipment and laptops and cleaned out most of the cobwebs. Already, she had some experiments she wanted to try out. After a long time scribbling calculations and inputting numbers to her computer, she headed over to the control panel for the time-travel lens.

The lens began spinning, the glowing portal appeared, and just like that, Ghoulia stepped into it and disappeared.

Hours later, the workshop was still and quiet. All of a sudden, the lens began to spin, the vortex appeared, and Ghoulia jumped out. Her clothes were in tatters. She’d ripped off her shirtsleeve and tied it around her head like a headband. Dirt was smeared across her face like war paint. She was carrying a long wooden stick, and on the end of it was a stone arrowhead.

She whirled around.

The head of a giant T-Rex lunged through the portal and snapped at her.

Ghoulia whacked it with her stick and forced it back into the vortex. She slammed her stick onto the control panel and the portal closed.

She wiped her brow and laughed.

Groan! That was close!
