“I haven’t seen a blasted thing,” Blair said, nudging Ethan. “What time will the stars start to fall?”
“You have to be patient,” Ethan said.
They were sitting in the bed of his truck, looking for falling stars. To make sure they had the best light, they’d driven out to the middle of their ranch. Out here, no lights dimmed their view. The stars twinkled brightly above them.
“Are you going to wish for happiness?” he asked her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.
“Maybe, but I don’t know how I can be any happier.” Which was true. She and Ethan had spent a year looking for the perfect ranch and then planning the perfect wedding on that ranch. Now, two years later, they were expecting their first baby.
“What about you?” she asked.
Ethan kissed her softly. “I can’t think of a single wish that hasn’t been granted. I love you deeply and completely.”
Blair smiled and leaned against him, love overwhelming her. “That sounds like something Prince Charming would say.”
Ethan laughed and kissed her again. “And he would mean it.”
