Jonathan S. Weissman has always listed teaching as his number one passion, since his very first class on September 4, 2001.
He is a tenured Associate Professor and IT Program Coordinator in the Computing Sciences Department at Finger Lakes Community College. In addition to teaching, Jonathan rewrote the FLCC IT degree, keeping it current with industry, and he designed the Networking Lab. He is also a full-time Lecturer in the Computing Security Department at Rochester Institute of Technology, teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses. The highlight of his career came in May 2014, when he was awarded the RIT Outstanding Teaching Award for Non-Tenure Track Faculty 2013–2014. Jonathan is also a Lecturer in the School of Management at Nazareth College where he teaches IT courses.
Jonathan has a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Brooklyn College. He has 34 industry certifications, including Cisco’s CCNP Routing and Switching, CCNA Routing and Switching, and CCNA Security; CompTIA’s Security+, Network+, A+, and Linux+; EC-Council’s Certified Ethical Hacker and Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator; and IPv6 Forum’s Certified Network Engineer (Gold) and Certified Trainer (Gold).
Jonathan does computer networking and computer/network security industry consulting for area businesses and individuals, and also serves as technical editor for many industry textbooks.
He has taught over four dozen courses in networking, security, systems administration, ethical hacking, forensics, malware reverse engineering, programming, web design and scripting, database design, and many more.
Troy McMillian is a Product Developer and Technical Editor for Kaplan IT as well as a full-time trainer. He became a professional trainer 13 years ago, teaching Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA, and wireless classes.
He has contributed to and written exam prep guides, technically edited and co-authored books, and appeared in training videos for various topics including CCNA, Network+, Security+, Cloud+, CISSP, Windows administration, and VMware virtualization.
Troy lives in Sugarloaf Key, Florida with his wife, Heike.
