Chapter 1: Introduction

Answer is very much obvious.

Everyone!

Because all the above desires, if fulfilled is pretty much all one needs to live a “Dream life

These desires generally tend to be very stronger in our early age, but tend to get faded over time, as we grow in age. But the pre-requisite for ideal life is to nurture these desires very carefully and how to attain that is the key objective of this book.

If one is able to nurture these desires by developing right mindset and taking right actions on a day to day basis, one can surely achieve an Ideal life and much more.

But, it is very unfortunate that most of the people somehow choose (though, they don’t have to) to succumb to the various types of limiting beliefs and fears, in their journey towards Ideal Life.

Following statements, which keep running in the heads of most of people, may also sound familiar to some of you:

-  I am not good enough.

-  My circumstances are not in my favour.

-  I don’t have the required funds or skill-set to succeed in my desired goal.

-  I have never done this before (so it does not seem possible for me).

-  What if I fail and not able to survive.

-  What will people think about me (and believe me, this is one of strongest factor in not taking any action towards one’s ambitions).

-  And the list goes on and on...

Most of the people believe these statements to be totally true (yes, by consistent thinking and believing about them, you make them feel true).

And guess what happens next?  Obvious, we don’t take any action and thus there is no outcome or positive results.

But there are few people, who dare to question these statements.

If you have chosen to read this book, then you are one amongst those few, who wonder, why such things keep happening?

Why strong ambitions and desires to achieve our dreams in the childhood and young age tend to diminish in their intensity and die, as we grow up?

One of the most important reasons is that living a life of dream requires structuring, rather crafting each and every day by careful planning and execution towards our chosen objective.

It means that our each day should be well designed and filled with such actions which are in alignment with our desired Ideal Life.

Let’s be Honest!

Do you and I believe that your days are structured in a manner which is in alignment with our desired objective of an ideal life?

Let’s examine few areas of our daily life, to make a comparison of the same with the end objective of our desired life.

Basis below questions, you will realize that only if you are putting in some effort in any particular aspect of life as a routine, then only such area of our life gets better over time, as compared to other parts of your life.

If, your answers to most of the above questions are in “YES” then you are already on the right journey towards ideal life.

But , if you feel that the your days are not indicative of your ideal life, which you have been yearning for, then keep reading , you will definitely get wisdom nuggets and strategies in this book.

Okay, let’s move forward and do some introspection.

Is it possible to attain a wonderful life, while continuing to live your days casually, without any specific objective?

Of course, Not.

It would be stupid to imagine spending your days in a reckless manner and still expecting greater heights in one’s life.

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results” ~ Albert Einstein

One practical example will clarify the point straight forward.

In golf, your objective is to put the ball in the hole which is a few hundred yards away from your stick. That is your end goal.

You are expected to hit the ball while applying a right amount of force and more importantly a very clear focus on direction of your golf stick.

Here is the key message.

If there is a minor error of judgment in gauging the right direction towards that hole, then even if you have applied the right amount of force, you will end up throwing the golf ball in a very different direction.

Similarly the “Life Golfers” know and precisely understand these fine distinctions. In the game of life, your seemingly small decisions can have far reaching effect and even can change the course of your life.

Hence, coming to the key point, if you want to create an ideal life, your must take daily actions and steps, which are aligned with your long term objectives.

Therefore, don’t think too much about how would be your life in future? Rather just focus on your day to day actions and behaviors and you are on the right track to design your dream life.

Yes, I was expecting this question!

It is a natural human tendency to seek some kind of assurance about the outcome before even taking any action.

Not totally wrong though.

In fact, it makes sense to some extent. After all, the life is too short and there are so many other alternatives and “shiny objects” which pull us towards them.

You would say, this is just another book and there are plenty of others on the subject.  So why should you believe that this book has the capacity to propel your life to its best version.

Short Answer is “NO” Guarantee.

Not because the content is outdated or it does not work. The theory and the practical wisdom comprised in this book definitely works and you will be able to validate that some of actions, which you have taken already have delivered the desired results, basis the principles stated in this book. The principles stated in this book are ageless, only thing is that each of us has a different frequency to get tuned to.

More particularly, the outcome is always individual specific and entirely depends on the level of commitment of the person.

The wonderful things happen to people who take action- and that also a consistent and persistent basis despite facing hurdles coming in the way.

Believe me, life will surely come in your way on daily basis with its own share of hurdles/obstacles, while you are pursuing your journey of greatness, but one needs to consistently re-evaluate the priorities, be resilient and stay focused.

So, no guarantee, but if you show the commitment and be fully prepared to take the necessary action on a daily basis, rest will be taken care of.

WHO AM I TO SAY ALL THIS?

Again, a very relevant question! Why should you trust me? Who am I to say all this and assuring you of a great life?

A short response:

I strongly believe that everyone has at least some life experiences, which makes one eligible and worth sharing those with others.

In fact, forget this book, otherwise too in our regular life, we regularly seek views from others basis their experiences (shared in whatever form, but yes, we definitely value experience of others in leading our lives.)

So I feel myself having the necessary experience of life to at least share the same with this short book after completing four decades on this planet.

My experience covers spending more than a decade and half in corporate world as a legal professional, living a successful married life with two loving daughters and ‘one” wife .

The second thing is that when you plan to spread a message to the world in any manner (like this book here), it builds a moral pressure upon you to practice what you preach.

I believe myself to be a life-long learner and explorer and have done my best to follow most of the practices covered in this book. But as you know, it is a journey and there is always room for improvement.

So I believe that writing this book will help me to be accountable for living the principles stated in this book. This will be a tool for me for self-observation and continuous improvement (I am selfish here )

So Experience and the drive to learn the newer things in life make me eligible for writing and publishing this book.

Thirdly and lastly, I believe that the message contained in this book will help at least some people to come out of the stages of anxiety, worry and stress and show them a different and possible way of mastering one’s days and thus create a life of his or her dreams.
