4. Yaśomitra, Vasubandhu’s commentator, glosses vātsīputrīyā as āryasaṃmatīyahṃ. This is one of the schools to which the general term, paudgalika, i.e. Pudgalavādins, refers. The Pudgalavādins are those who belong to the Buddhist schools in which it is asserted that a person exists who is not explicable either as other than or the same as the aggregates.
