No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
1 CORINTHIANS 10:13
Good and powerful Lord, in Your Word, the apostle Paul boldly declared that “no temptation has overtaken [him] except [those that are] common” to everyone. I thank You for the promise that follows that statement: You are faithful to always provide a way of escape. O Lord, if only I would consistently choose to resist temptation. Prompt in me, Lord, not only an instant recognition of temptations as they arise but also the immediate godly response of seeking Your protection, Your guidance to the “way of escape,” and Your Spirit’s power to choose that way.
