Day 112

David—The Joyful Dancer

2 Samuel 6:1–23

The ark of the covenant had been hidden away while Saul ruled. David decided it was time to bring it to Jerusalem. A new ox-cart was built just to carry the ark. As it rolled toward Jerusalem, David and other Israelis followed behind. They sang and made music and danced with all their strength.

The tabernacle was set up on Mount Zion. The priests carried the ark into the tent of meeting and offerings were burned to the Lord. Israel was shouting with joy, and David used all his strength dancing before the Lord.

Questions: Where was the ark when Saul ruled? What did David do when the ark was brought to Jerusalem?
