1 Kings 17:1–7
When Ahab was king, a great prophet came out of Gilead. This was Elijah the Tishbite. He spoke to Ahab: “The God of Israel is living. I’m with him. There will be neither dew or rain until I say so.” Then Elijah went away to the east and hid at Cherith Creek.
“When you’re thirsty, drink from the creek,” God said. “I’ve commanded the ravens to feed you when you’re hungry.” Morning and evening ravens brought Elijah meat and bread. He drank from the creek. But it soon dried up because no rain fell in the land.
Questions: What did Elijah tell Ahab? Why did the creek dry up?
