1 Kings 17:19–24
The widow’s child was dead. Elijah carried the boy up to his room. “O Lord,” he cried, “have you brought tragedy to this woman by killing her son?” He lay full-length on the boy three times. Elijah cried out, “O Lord my God! Let this child live.” The Lord heard Elijah’s voice; the child’s life came into him again.
Elijah brought him down the stairs. “See, your son is alive.”
“Now I know that you’re a man of God. You speak the Lord’s words in truth.”
