2 Chronicles 24:1–15
Joash was seven years old when he began to reign. As a man, Joash decided to repair Solomon’s temple. It was very old and had been mistreated over the years.
Outside the temple doors, Joash placed a large box. He announced that everyone should bring their gifts to the temple. The people were glad to do this. Day after day, the box was filled with money.
Joash and Jehoiada the priest gave the money to hire workmen. Carpenters, metalworkers, laborers, and craftsmen worked. They repaired the Lord’s house. Judah worshiped there until Jehoiada died.
Questions: Why did the temple have to be repaired? How long did Judah worship at the repaired temple?
