2 Chronicles 26:1–20
Amaziah’s sixteen-year-old son, Uzziah, became king. Living in the Lord’s way, he strengthened the kingdom. Uzziah was victorious in war and built fortified cities in Judah. He loved the fields, so trees, vineyards, and crops flourished.
But when Uzziah became strong, he became proud. He was already king, but he wanted to be the priest, too. One day, he went into the temple to offer incense. Eighty-one priests followed.
“Leave here,” they warned. “This is trouble for you.”
Holding the incense, Uzziah got angry. Just then, leprosy broke out on his forehead.
Questions: When Uzziah got proud, what did he want to be? What happened when Uzziah offered the incense?
