Day 188

A Law Against Prayer

Daniel 6:1–10

The Persians set up Darius, a Mede, as king in Babylon. Daniel was made one of three presidents in the land. But the two other presidents were jealous of Daniel. They hatched a plan.

The presidents knew that Daniel prayed to God three times a day. So they went to Darius. “O king, everyone should pray to you and not to any other god. We want to make a new law: No one can pray to another god. If they do, throw them to the lions.” Darius declared this the law.

Daniel continued praying to God.

Questions: What was the new law in Babylon? Did Daniel obey this law?
