Daniel 6:11–17
Despite the new law against prayer, Daniel prayed toward Jerusalem three times daily. His enemies sought to frame him and asked King Darius about the death sentence concerning the law.
“There’s someone, O king, who doesn’t obey this law. It is Daniel from Judah. Before the law, he prayed three times a day. And he still does.”
The king was very upset that Daniel had been accused. He spent the whole day trying to save his wise president. That evening, the jealous presidents insisted that Daniel be punished.
So King Darius had to give the command. Daniel was brought and thrown into a den of lions. “You serve your God faithfully, Daniel,” the king said. “I hope your God will save you from the lions.” A stone was brought to seal the mouth of the cave. No one could let Daniel out of the lions’ den.
Questions: How many times a day did Daniel pray? What did the king say when he threw Daniel to the lions?
