This what God has done for me!” praised Elizabeth. She had just learned she and Zechariah were to have a baby.
Next, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth. This town is in Galilee north of Judea. Living there was a girl named Mary, who was to wed Joseph.
“Greetings,” Gabriel said. “You are God’s favorite woman. God is with you.
“What kind of speaking is this?” Mary wondered.
“Don’t be afraid,” Gabriel continued. “You’re going to have a baby boy. You’ll call his name Jesus. He’ll be called the Son of God.”
