Matthew 2:11–14
The joyous men entered the house and saw the child with Mary. They knelt down with reverence. Then, opening their treasure chests, they offered Jesus gifts. They gave him precious gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
When the men left, they didn’t return to Herod. In a dream, one of them had been warned not to do this. So they traveled back to their land by another road.
Joseph saw an angel in a dream. “Hurry away to Egypt,” the angel said. “Herod wants to kill the child.”
That night the family left for Egypt.
