John 4:46–5:1
When Jesus got back to Galilee, the people welcomed him. They had seen what he’d done in Jerusalem. Jesus went to Cana, where he changed the water into wine. In nearby Capernaum, there was a nobleman whose son was sick. He had heard that Jesus had come from Judea. This man went up the hills from the seashore to see Jesus. He begged him: “Come and heal my son. He’s about to die.”
“Unless you see miracles you won’t believe,” Jesus replied.
The nobleman said, “Sir, come down before my little boy dies.”
“Go; your son will live.”
The man believed Jesus’ words and started for home. The next day, his slaves met him on the way. “Your child is alive!” they exclaimed.
He asked them what time the boy began to get well. “Yesterday at one in the afternoon his fever went down.” That was the exact hour that Jesus said, “Your son will live.” So the nobleman believed as did all his household.
This was the second time Jesus did something to prove he was the Son of God.
Questions: When Jesus said his son would live, what did the nobleman do? Who else believed when the nobleman believed?
