Luke 7:11–16
Jesus and his disciples went to the town of Nain. A large crowd followed. There, a funeral procession came out of the town’s gate. A young man had died. His mother, a widow, followed his body, weeping. A large crowd from the town was there.
The Lord saw her and had pity. “Don’t weep,” he said and stopped the procession. Then he said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!” The man sat up and began to speak. Jesus gave him to his mother.
The crowds were afraid. “A great prophet has come to us,” they declared.
Questions: How did the Lord feel when he saw the widow weeping? What did the crowd say about Jesus?
