Mark 5:35–43
Your daughter’s dead, Jairus,” people said. “Don’t trouble the teacher.” But Jesus overheard.
“Don’t fear, Jairus,” he said. “Only believe.”
Jesus wouldn’t let anyone follow him to Jairus’ house. Only Peter, James, and John went along. There, people loudly wailed.
“Why so much noise? She’s not dead; she’s sleeping.” They laughed at Jesus. He put them outside. With her parents and the disciples, Jesus went to the girl. He took her hand. “Little girl, get up.” She arose and walked around. They were overcome with amazement. “Don’t tell anyone,” Jesus ordered. “And give her something to eat.”
Questions: What did Jesus tell Jairus to do? What did the people do when Jesus came to the house?
