Matthew 17:1–8
Six days later, Jesus took Peter, James, and John to the mountaintop. There Jesus was changed. His face shone like the sun. His clothes became dazzling. Suddenly, Moses and Elijah appeared and spoke with Jesus.
Peter said, “Shall we pitch three tents? One to worship you, one to worship Moses, and one for Elijah?” Peter was talking when a bright cloud covered them.
A voice spoke from the cloud, “This is my beloved Son. He pleases me. Listen to him!” The disciples fell to the ground in fear. When they looked up, only Jesus was there.
