Luke 10:38–42
One day Jesus went to Martha and Mary’s house. Mary had once anointed Jesus’ feet and wiped them with her hair. She enjoyed sitting at the Lord’s feet listening to him talk. Martha was very busy with other things in the house. She said to Jesus, “My sister has left all the work for me to do. Does that bother you at all?”
“Martha, Martha,” he answered, “you’re worried about so many things. But there’s only one thing that’s really needed. Mary has chosen to love me, and that won’t be taken from her.”
