Matthew 26:30–46
They sang a hymn and went to the Mount of Olives. At a garden called Gethsemane, Jesus said, “Sit here. I’ll go over there and pray.” With Peter, James, and John, he went to pray. “I am deeply saddened,” he told them. “Stay awake with me here.” And Jesus went aside alone.
He threw himself on the ground praying, “My Father, don’t make me do this. But this is what you want. So I’ll give up what I want.”
He found the three disciples sleeping. “Get up; let’s go. It is time for me to be betrayed.”
Questions: What did Jesus ask the Father when he prayed? What did the disciples do while Jesus was praying?
