Genesis 44:18–45:16
Judah was one of Jacob’s sons. He was afraid, but he spoke to Joseph: “Benjamin’s father is old. He’ll die if his son doesn’t return. His brother has already been killed by beasts. Let me stay. Then the boy can go back to his father.”
Then Joseph could not keep his secret any longer. He cried out, “I’m Joseph, your brother! You sold me into Egypt. But God wanted this. I’ve given food to all the world.” And he wept on Benjamin’s shoulder. Then they all kissed and hugged and talked. All of Pharaoh’s palace was glad.
Questions: Why did Judah want to stay instead of Benjamin? Why did God want Joseph in Egypt?
