Part One
Revelation 1:9–13
I was in spirit on the Lord’s day.” These words were written by the apostle John. He was a very old man. John continued, “Behind me, I heard a loud voice like a trumpet.” John was in prison because he spoke God’s word. His prison was on a lonely island called Patmos. He was the last of the disciples who had walked with Jesus.
“I turned to look when I heard the voice,” John wrote. “There, walking among seven gold lampstands, was Jesus Christ.” John had last seen Jesus sixty years before when Jesus came back from death.
Questions: What did Jesus’ voice sound like? Where was Jesus walking when John saw him?
