Exodus 3:1–6
Moses had his flock on Mount Horeb. There, God appeared to him as a flame of fire in a bush. Moses saw the bush burning but not burned up. Moses wondered why the bush didn’t burn up.
God called from the bush, “Moses, Moses.”
“I’m here,” Moses answered.
“Come no closer,” God warned. “Take off your sandals. You’re standing on holy ground. I am your ancestor’s God—the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob.”
Moses hid his face and couldn’t look at God.
