Day 67

The Woman with the Scarlet Rope

Joshua 2:7–24

Jericho’s king heard of the spies in Rahab’s house. He sent soldiers to capture them. Rahab rushed to hide them. She then sent the soldiers to look for them elsewhere.

Before the spies slept, she said, “I know God has given you this land. Promise me that Israel won’t kill my family.”

“We promise you this because you’ve saved our lives.”

Rahab let down a scarlet rope for them to escape. “Israel will see this red rope hanging out your window,” they said. “It will be a sign for them not to harm you.”

Questions: What did the spies promise Rahab? How did the spies get out of Jericho?
