The moment you accept responsibility for EVERYTHING in your life is the moment you gain the power to change ANYTHING in your life.

When Black-ish actress Tracee Ellis Ross joined Oprah onstage during Oprah’s 2020 Vision Tour, I watched the interview twice. I soaked up Tracee’s insights about getting to know herself and what she wants. “As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more myself,” she said. “And the more I am myself, the more my life looks like me—not the same as anyone else’s.” I love that connection—be authentically you and your best life will follow. Tracee also made it clear that she’s in charge of her decisions. “I, like many of us, was taught to grow up dreaming of my wedding, not of my life,” she said. “I spent many years dreaming of my wedding, and also waiting to be chosen. But here’s the thing: I’m the chooser.” I’m the chooser! Powerful, right? Perhaps today keep in mind these four words that Tracee wrote in her journal: “My life is mine.”
