NOTE ON ONLINE SOURCES
image ALL URLS MENTIONED in the notes were accessible in early March 2014, when the manuscript for this book was submitted. In cases where the original web pages that I consulted are no longer available on the live web, the URLs in the notes refer to archived copies of the pages in question, usually those preserved by the Internet Archive Wayback Machine (IAWM, http://web.archive.org). If a page was not preserved by the IAWM or other web archives, but I saved a snapshot of it myself, the URL in the notes refers to the copy in a Zotero group library where I stored my material. To access this archive, readers must contact me with a request to become members of the Zotero group “Internet Literature in China” (https://www.zotero.org/groups/internet_literature_in_china).
The Zotero group library is organized by chapter and by note number. In addition to snapshots of material not available elsewhere on the web at this writing, it also contains snapshots of all the other web pages referred to in the notes. This means that readers of this book can view all the material I used even if it disappears from the live web in the future.
