David B. Williams is a freelance writer and naturalist. His books include Seattle Walks: Exploring History and Nature in the City, Too High and Too Steep: Reshaping Seattleās Topography, Cairns: Messengers in Stone, Stories in Stone: Travels Through Urban Geology, and The Seattle Street-Smart Naturalist: Field Notes from the City. He lived in Moab for 9 years, where he worked as a park ranger at Arches National Park and as a program coordinator and instructor for Canyonlands Field Institute. He now lives in Seattle.
