Gloria Brown grew up in Colorado, studied art in San Francisco and Chicago, then worked in The Hague, Copenhagen, and New York City. During the mid-1990s she was publication specialist for Canyonlands Natural History Association in Moab, Utah. Gloria illustrated several nature books for children. Her watercolors have been shown in the Southwest, including “The Pages Come Alive,” an interpretive exhibit of art from this book at Kolb Studio in Grand Canyon National Park. She passed away in 2014.
Todd Telander is a naturalist/illustrator/artist living in Walla Walla, Washington. He has studied and illustrated wildlife since 1989, while living in California, Colorado, New Mexico, and Washington. He graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz with degrees in biology, environmental studies, and scientific illustration, and has since illustrated numerous books and other publications, including Falcon Pocket Guides and Scats and Tracks (both FalconGuides) series. His wife, Kirsten Telander, is a writer, and they have two sons, Miles and Oliver. His work can be viewed online at www.toddtelander.com.
