In many parts of the world, winter, spring, summer, and fall have relatively different temperatures. This calls for different foods since differences in weather give us different crops. Mother Nature gives us what we need to be our healthiest selves during each season. For example, we get squash and potatoes in the fall to help our bodies warm up as we enter colder weather and sprouts in the spring to cleanse ourselves after winter.
Summer provides lots of fresh, high-water-content fruits and vegetables to hydrate our bodies and replace lost fluids when we’re faced with high temperatures that cause us to sweat a lot.
Now I’m going to give you an overview of each season. Keep in mind, depending on where you live, your seasonal foods will vary. Use a sustainable online source to see what’s in season for you at any time.
