トウモロコシ醤油焼き
Corn with Soy
SERVES 6 AS A SIDE OR 2 AS A SNACK
2 corn cobs, cut into thirds
25 g (1 oz) butter, melted
2 teaspoons Japanese soy sauce
1½ teaspoons mirin
1 teaspoon caster (superfine) sugar
Bring a saucepan of water to the boil over high heat, then add the corn. Cook for 3 minutes, then drain well.
Preheat the grill (broiler) to high.
Combine the butter, soy sauce, mirin and sugar, then brush the mixture over the corn on a foil-lined tray and place under the hot grill. Cook for 2–3 minutes, turning and basting regularly until golden and slightly blistered.
