Yoshoku

Yoshoku means ‘Western food’ but it actually refers to those early dishes that the Japanese adapted to suit themselves. Among them are omuraisu, an omelette wrapped around flavoured rice, and sandwiches filled with potato salad or a combination of cream and fruit.
