Butterfly
This model only has a few steps, so some of these folds will have a big impact on the final shape. The tiny pleat in step 6 defines the shape of the wings and creates their separation. Changing the angle and depth of these folds will result in a wide variety of butterflies.
1 Precrease in half.
2 Valley fold the sides down.
3 Flip the top layers behind to meet at the center.
4 Valley fold the top corner down.
5 Valley fold up, aligning the crease with the edge beneath.
6 Pleat each side up a little bit.
7 Turn over.
8 Pleat along the center, letting the wings get pulled up.
