Turtle
Turtles are very common in origami made from squares. This makes sense, as turtles are almost square with their symmetry. Making one with a dollar bill means that lots of the paper has to be tucked away, and this model does just that. There is a little bit of a surprise toward the end, as the center pleat gets expanded to reveal the shell.
1 Precrease in half.
2 Precrease the sides.
3 Precrease the middle sections in half.
4 Mountain fold the corners.
5 Valley fold at the hidden corner, so the edge lies horizontally.
6 Unfold the flap completely.
7 Valley fold the corner in.
8 Repeat steps 5–7 in mirror image.
9 Valley fold down while swiveling in the sides.
10 Flip the flap up.
11 Valley fold the edges down, allowing squash folds to form.
12 Mountain fold the edges behind.
13 Valley fold the edges up while swiveling in the sides.
14 Tuck the edges into the pockets below.
15 Valley fold the corners to the center.
16 Precrease along the angle bisectors. Turn over.
17 Valley fold up.
18 Valley fold down while swiveling in the sides.
19 Valley fold the rectangular section in half.
20 Precrease through all layers.
21 Fold the sides down through the intersection of creases.
22 Precrease along the angle bisectors.
23 Reverse fold.
24 Lightly swing over.
25 Swing the flap back while incorporating a reverse fold.
26 Repeat steps 23–25 on the remaining three corners.
27 Fold the bottom flaps up.
28 Wrap around an edge at each side.
29 Valley fold the flaps up.
30 Swing down, tucking the corner inside.
31 Form a shallow pleat on each flap.
32 Repeat steps 28–31 behind.
33 Spread apart the center pleat.

35 Mountain fold the corners.
36 Spread apart the layers at the head.
