PROTEIN OATMEAL WITH FRUIT AND NUTS

This is my mom’s morning staple, so I tweaked it for optimal health benefits…

SERVES 1

½ c. dry sprouted oats

½ c. water

½ c. 2% milk

½ c. fruit, I use sliced apples but berries or bananas are great too…

1/8 cup nuts, chopped (small handful) or try 1 tsp of your favorite nut butter stirred in (it’s fantastic) (optional)

1 heaping tbsp. vegan vanilla protein powder, or Goatein by Garden of Life

1 tsp. cinnamon

Method

Combine oats, water and milk in a small or medium sized cook pot and turn heat to medium high, let cook for 5 minutes

Stir in nuts and protein powder, and top with fruit and a few dashes of cinnamon

Let cool and enjoy
