GS! BERRY CRIP
Or cherry… be creative! Great with a ½ c. of plain non-fat Greek yogurt…
SERVES 15
3 c. fresh berries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries…
2/3 c. brown sugar, divided
1 c. applesauce, room temperature
1 1/3 c. sprouted flour
1 1/3 c. rolled oats
2 tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. ground nutmeg
½ tsp. sea salt
¼ c. organic butter or ghee, melted
Method
Preheat oven to 350
In a large bowl, gently mix berries and 1/3 c. sugar together
In another bowl, mix flour, 1/3 c. sugar, oats, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg
Mix butter and applesauce, and add in a little at a time to flour and oat mixture. Stir until crumbly, it will be moist because of the applesauce
In a 9x13 pan, press about ¾ of the flour and oat mixture into the bottom
Add berries and then sprinkle the remaining flour and oat mixture over the berries, or take a handful and evenly distribute
Bake for 35 minutes, or until fruit is bubbling and topping is golden brown
