CalorieKing, at www.calorieking.com, is a searchable database with nutritional information on more than 30,000 generic and brand-name foods, including more than 150 fast-food chains.
Continuum Health Partners, Inc., features a fiber content chart at www.weheal ny.org/healthinfo/dietaryfiber/fibercontentchart.html. The foods are organized by fiber and calorie content; the list includes foods with no fiber.
Resistance Training
The Web site of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) (www.acsm.org) offers information on resistance training, working out at home or at an exercise facility, selecting a personal trainer, and more. The ACSM advances and integrates scientific research to provide educational and practical applications of exercise science and sports medicine.
The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) certifies personal trainers. For help in finding one, log on to www.nsca-lift.org. The NSCA also has online articles covering all aspects of strength and conditioning.
