Epilogue

Back on the Isle of Stone, Calum held Arielle in his arms after they’d made love. They’d chosen the cabin Arielle had, and he traced lazy circles on her back. He breathed easily, feeling for the first time that everything was going to be okay.

He moved his fingers up to caress her soft shoulder. “I love you, Arielle. You mean the world to me.” He lowered his lips to give her a long, unhurried kiss.

“I love you, too.” She murmured against his mouth.

Calum parted her lips with his tongue, easing his way in. He wrapped his arms more tightly around her body. He’d crossed into another realm to be with her, and she for him. Nothing could keep them apart.

When he pulled his lips from hers, he declared, “Home is wherever you are, Arielle. Wherever that takes us.”

“Well, you know I’m quite fond of your concerts. And it turns me on to see you perform.” With a raised brow, she added, “On stage. So, I hope you’ll be taking me to more of your shows.”

He laughed. “All of them.”

By giving up everything to be with her, somehow, he’d lucked out with it all. Except—he’d lost a bet, he recalled with a sly grin.

“The only problem is my brothers,” he said with mock concern.

She furrowed her brows. “What? They don’t want me there? I thought they liked me.”

“No, that’s not what I mean.” He laughed.

“You’ve lost me.”

“I mean, I’ve lost a bet.”

“On what?”

“After Bryce met Mairi, both Gavin and I swore to doomsday that we wouldn’t be next. Looks like I’m the one eating crow.”

“Oh.” She laughed. “A wee price to pay for happiness, I hope?”

“A wee price indeed.”

“I feel bad for Gavin, though. Without you, who will keep him company when he’s cavorting for attention?”

He arched a brow. “If there’s ever a person you don’t need to worry about that, it’s Gavin. How can he ever be lonely when he manages to find—err, companionship—whenever he wants?”

“Still.” She propped herself up on her elbow. “Maybe he’ll find the right one for him one day. Doesn’t everyone need love?”

Calum considered it. “Nah. I can’t picture it. Not Gavin. He’s not a one-woman-shifter.” He rolled onto his side to face Arielle, and ran his fingers over her soft side. “I’d rather not talk about Gavin when we’re both naked.”

“Oh, and what would you like to talk about?”

He kissed her cheek and moved his way down to her neck. “Actually, I was thinking less talk, more action.”

As he kissed his way to her breasts, she sighed with pleasure and ran her fingers through his hair.

“If you keep doing that,” she murmured, “My lips are sealed.”
