SEPTEMBER 27, 1974

My lil’ baby daughter is a month old today. God! Seems like she’s always been here, but also like she was born yesterday. She slept four hours at a stretch last night. Right on, Deignan!

Here’s the sad thing. The TV is on so much that I can tell the time any hour of the day by the show that’s on. It’s my most sustained contact with the outside world.

But in two more weeks, Ms. Miles will be starting and I will have a bit more freedom. The trip is I’m already starting to feel guilty about leaving the baby! Life is so complex.
