Movies would have us believe that becoming a published author is a solitary achievement, where we slave away in our office. Alone. The truth is that book publishing is much closer to being a group project (and believe it or not, I’m not referring to the group of voices in my head).

I couldn’t have completed this book without the unfailing support of my family. You tolerate my insanity and encourage my dreams. You’re the best anyone could wish for and I’m endlessly grateful in every way.

I send hugs and thanks to my beta readers: Jay, Angela, Wendy, Suzanne, Susan, Janice, Murphy, Rachel, Melinda, Buffy, and P.W. You all helped me make this story better. *listens to mental whispers* And Alex and Elaina thank you too.

My wonderful editors improved this story in countless ways, so many thanks go out to Marcy, Erynn, and Julie. Thanks again to Laird for the wonderful cover too. All of you helped me make this book match the vision in my head.

Thanks also to the amazing writing community, those who gave me the confidence to pursue publication: the contest judges (especially those who awarded this story all its wins and finals) and the many readers of my blog. Thanks to my Twitter and Facebook friends who support my social media addiction and to those who helped spread the word (and for debating whether the rule to capitalize the word Internet could be broken without seeming like a grammar heathen). You all make my corner of the world a little brighter and happier.

And most of all, to my readers, the joy of writing wouldn’t be the same without you!
