At age five I was already a bookaholic. My mother, Donna Gail Tussey (Webster), introduced me to that magical place, called a library before kindergarten. The kindergarten teacher said, in my presence, that she was at a loss as to what to teach me, since I was reading at a first grade level at the time. My grandmother, Anita H. Tussey, continued to encourage me to read and also to engage my creative mind to write and to notice my surroundings in detail. Then followed many great teachers who inspired and encouraged me to read and write and explore my world.
When, after raising six amazing children, with my awesome husband of (now) 46 years, I am a grandmother of 17 awesome grandchildren and a great grandson. I am only just now, finally, writing the novels I have been told for so many years I was destined to write. I was 65 years old at my first book signing.
That being said, I want to give credit to another group who have been my cheerleaders in making this happen. My sweet husband, my children and grandchildren, Richard G. Lowe (who helped me get the ball rolling), Mercedes S. Lackey (for her inspiration and advice) and my beta readers as follows:
Delia D. Michael, Jennifer Dillabough, Aurora Jay, George S. Dillabough, Tymara Michael, Tyler Michael, Luz Rives, Kitty Connell, Annette Foster, Cindy Jones Erickson, Lynnette Dillabough, Maria Gurriere, Caleb Michael, Patricia Burke, Angela Bryner, Maureen Burrows Briscoe, Shelah Dow, Jacob Michael, Scott McKenzie, Richard McKenzie, Dee McKenzie, and George C. Dillabough.
