Assign a Macro to a Button on the Quick Access Toolbar
Follow the steps below to add a custom macro button to the Quick Access Toolbar:
- Click the Customize Quick Access Toolbar
button at the end of the Quick Access toolbar. From the drop-down menu, click More Commands
. This opens the Customize the Quick Access Toolbar
pane in Excel Options.
- Click the Choose commands from
drop-down list box and select Macros from the drop-down list. In the list box on the left of the dialog box you’ll see a list of macros created in the current workbook and those saved in the PERSONAL.XLSB workbook.
- In the list box on the left, select the macro name that you want to add to a custom button on the Quick Access Toolbar. Then click the Add
button to add the macro command to the list on the right of the dialog box.
Note
: If you mistakenly added the wrong command, you can select it in the list on the right box and click the Remove
button to remove it.
- Click OK
on the Excel Options dialog box to confirm the change.
A custom button with a generic macro icon will appear on the Quick Access Toolbar. A mouseover the button will display the name of the macro assigned to it. To run the macro, click the button.
