Chapter 14

JuJu

That was by far the scariest job that we have ever done. I can’t believe that nigga Big Moe had a gun to my head. Poohman came through big time. It was as if he read my mind before I could say anything.

“You ain’t gotta thank me. Jaw woulda done the same thing for Re.”

I turned towards the window to clear my mind. My ringing phone brought me back to reality. “Yes Auntie Tae?”

“I guess you think since you out on your own you can keep my under aged daughter out for days at a time.”

“What the hell are you talking about? Ty not with me and ain’t been with me since the night before last.”

“Then where the fuck is she? She ain’t been home since she took her lil hot ass skating.”

“She did go home. It was a shooting at the rink and we all got split up. She jumped in a cab with a friend.”

“That’s some bullshit and you know it! Find my child and tell her that I’m fucking her up when she comes home!”

CLICK!

Poohman was looking at me as if I was crazy. “What?”

“So y’all wasn’t gon tell us there was a shooting at the rink?”

Damn! He continues, “Just like y’all won’t gon tell us that y’all was planning to rob two banks at the same time.”

I was speechless. I had to come back with something. “You and Jaw make moves that don’t include us. We ain’t kids, Poohman. We---”

I’mma let Jaw handle you, but I’mma get yo girl. Today showed me that yeah y’all ‘bout that life, but y’all bumping heads with some real killers. But back to your cousin. She missing?”

“My auntie said she ain’t been home since the night before last. Actually last night. Meechie said that his friend took her home.”

“Then call Meech.”

Young Meech

I can’t believe how that shit went down. My best friend was my enemy the whole time. Auntie Shawn felt that shit too. Damn. He shot my sister.

“Dirty, you sure she don’t need to go to the hospital?”

She waved her hand in the air. “She cool. The bullet went through the vest a little. After a few butterfly stitches and some alcohol pads, she’ll be good. Ain’t that right, Tiki?”

“Man, kiss my ass! I’m in pain, nigga!”

Dirty started laughing. “At least you’re alive, unlike that nigga back at the bank. Ain’t that right, Meech?”

I shook my head. “Naw, I didn’t shoot him.”

She whipped her head in my direction. “NIGGA ARE YOU SERIOUS?”

“I felt bad for him.” I tried to make her understand that I had some type of love for the nigga. “That’s like my best---”

“Fuck all that shit! Best friend my ass! Do you know he ain’t gon stop ‘til he kill us? Tiki, what the fuck, man?”

“Calm down, Dirty. Lil bro, that lil boy is fucked up in the head. We are responsible for his brother’s death. Friend or not, he’s going to die by the hands of one of us. He shot me too. That lil bastard got to go, Meech.”

My phone rang so I hit speaker since it was JuJu.

“Man, Ju you ain’t gon believe what Lil Man did at the bank.”

“I probably would since he lied about making sure Ty got home last night.”

“WHAT? Come on Ju! Tell me, my shawty good!”

I heard her sniffle. “I can’t because we don’t know where she at.”

Tiki grabbed my phone. “JuJu, that lil nigga shot me in my chest!”

“WHAT?”

“And dig this. It’s the same Lil Man from the hood.”

“Are you serious? Ah, that nigga done something to Ty. Meet us at the spot.”

“Which spot?”

“Mine.”

(Twenty Minutes Later)

We all made it safely to the spot. Everyone was sitting around the living room telling a piece of what had happened today. Lil Mama called all the hospitals, police stations, and juvenile detention centers. Nothing!

Boo looked at her and said, “Call the morgue.”

Lil Mama snapped, “WHY THE FUCK WOULD I DO THAT? SHE AIN’T THERE!”

I grabbed my phone and called Lil Man’s phone just to see if he would answer. “What up, Young?”

I was shocked. I had to look at the phone for a second. This nigga is truly certified. I put my finger to my mouth to shush everybody. I put him on speaker.

“Nigga, what the fuck is wrong with you?”

“Shit, I just wanna kill those hoes because they killed Pancho! You and I can still be cool. You like a brother to me.”

“So, I’m supposed to sit around and let you kill my sister?”

“Basically. Either that or you can die too. I really like you, but I could care less if you live or die.”

“Damn, you cold as hell! Let me ask you a question. Where is Tyesha?”

He started giggling. “S-s-she probably in hell by now! Fucking tease!”

I had to walk away because JuJu almost screamed out. Had it not been for Jaw’s quick reflexes to cover her mouth, she would have.

“What you mean?”

“I shot that bitch at the rink last night after I shot at them hoes you was with. Fuck them hoes, Young! You wanna come through and play NBA Live?”

I just hung up. Damn! Not my lil ride or die. I walked back in the living room and all eyes were on me. I had to put my head down. “Umm, Lil Mama, I think that you should try the morgue.”

JuJu lost it, “TYESHA! NOOOOO! GET OFF ME, JAW! I’MMA KILL THAT SON-OF-A-BITCH!”

There wasn’t a dry eye in that bitch.

“Damn sis, I’m sorry---”

“It’s cool lil bro, come here.”

I felt like I couldn’t breathe. My heart turned cold with every sob I heard throughout the room.

“The morgue said that they have an unidentified teenage female there. She has the tattoo that Tyesha has on her wrist.”

She threw the phone at the wall so hard that it flew into several pieces. Then she fell to the floor and screamed, “TY! TY!”

I hope Lil Man knows that he just killed everybody in his family.
