• 11/2 cup (300g) brown sugar
• 200g butter
• 2 eggs
• 2 cups (350g) self-raising flour
• 2 tablespoons (40g) golden syrup
• 2 tablespoons (35g) cornflour
• 21/2 cups (625g) boiling water
Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a 30 x 20cm rectangular baking dish and set aside. Place half a cup of sugar and butter into the thermo bowl.

Add eggs, self-raising flour and golden syrup.

Using the spatula, pour the mixture into the baking dish. Then into the thermo bowl, add 1 cup of brown sugar, cornflour and boiling water.

Pour the sauce over the back of a serving spoon onto the cake and bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until golden and bubbling.
